Christine Ellis, President
Christine Ellis is the Chairwoman of the Skagway School Board. She has been on the board for 12 years. Chris is an avid supporter of school activities and not only volunteers her time as chairwoman (every member of the school board donates their board salaries to the Skagway School Board Scholarship Fund) but serves concessions, plans and chaperones events and plants and maintains the school flowers each summer. Chris has lived in Skagway most of her life and has an Associate’s Degree in business. She is married to Mike (Zach) Ellis and has three children (Kyle, Jesse and Jayce). She has on granddaughter as well, Cassidy. When asked why Chris serves on the school board she responded, “I enjoy being a part of the students lives.” Two things she would like to see the school accomplish is increased enrollment in the school as well as increased class offerings.
