Activities
The Skagway School District believes that extracurricular activities are
necessary and extremely beneficial to help our students mature into adults.
These activities provide multiple character building aspects including
setting and striving for goals, as well as dealing with complex emotions
like frustration, exhilaration, and humility. Activities also prepare
students for life as productive members of society by exposing them to other
cultures and ways of life, increasing self-esteem, and developing social
skills. Our coaches and extra duty supervisors are a vital part of our
school community because we expect them to foster positive growth in each of
