Jo has been with the Skagway School District for the past twenty-nine years. She has taught grades 3,4,5,6,7,8, English 9,10,11,12 and Secondary Art. She had been High School Class Advisor, Close-Up Advisor, Student Council Advisor, Drama Club Advisor, Two-time recipient of the Outstanding Community Education Volunteer for the State of Alaska Award, board member of Skagway’s Community Education program, volunteer at the Teen Center, volunteer coordinator of Skagway’s Yuletide Craft Fair and Carnival. Besides reading, hiking and playing her accordion, she enjoys acting in the school’s drama productions.
